TVBA's Beginner Beekeeping Class series is designed to prepare you for your first year of beekeeping and beyond. The classes are taught by experienced beekeepers possessing the knowledge and tools to guide you through the seasons of beekeeping.
Whether you are a bee enthusiast, beginning your beekeeping adventure soon with bees on order, or have a year or two of experience, you will enjoy the speakers' enthusiasm, their annually-updated content, and hopefully be inspired to dive deeper into the lifestyle of beekeeping so many of us find so fulfilling.
These short, information-intense sessions provide a wellspring of beekeeping knowledge. Each month covers a different topic- from getting your first bees, to seasonal adjustments in beekeeping practices, to other considerations as you grow along with your bees.
We will introduce you to the essential gear equipment for your apiary in North Texas and fill your head with the tips, tricks and intellectual tools needed to get started with honey bees. Jump in any month and keep coming back! You will not only learn what you need to know, but why you need to know it, and how to apply it to what you see happening with your bees.
Before you order bees, buy equipment and beekeeping books, or spend hours watching videos online... join us and meet your future peers from around North Texas! It's fun, it's multi-faceted, and most of all, it's fulfilling. Beekeepers love keeping bees for a reason... join us, and you'll find out too!
Classes begin at 6:00P.M. before the TVBA Educational Speaker Meetings hosted every 4th Tuesday, monthly.
